Lance is a oil painter, illustrator, and author based in Michigan. He also works as a graphic designer helping libraries to better connect with their communities.

Being inspired by his travels, traditional animation, and extensive constant reading (being a dedicated bibliophile having worked for years at a bookstore and libraries), he aims to evoke a sense of curiosity and wonder in his art; showing that there is more to this world than what we see before us day-to-day.

Currently he is in the early stages of a new journey as an artist shifting from being primarily a digital illustrator for commercial projects to instead focusing on traditionally painting in oils and developing a stronger unique voice as an illustrator. As a craftsman he has always loved creating with his hands, and while digital tools are great for speed and flexibility they leave a feeling of separation from one's work. So, now with brushes in hand he is creating a new body of work. He is diving deeper into his craft, refining his process, and exploring themes he is passionate about such as yokai, Japanese mythology, all grounded in his own adventures across Japan.
