The jury submission period for the 2022 IX Main Show is now open and will run from November 1st through December 1st, 2021.
If you wish to exhibit in the Main Show at IX 15 (October 19-23, 2022) and participate in the Main Show portion of IX Online for the 2022 show year, you will need to submit your work to our jury for consideration – all Main Show exhibitors are juried. The submissions are open to any artist working in traditional mediums, 2D or 3D. Digital artists may exhibit their work in the Showcase, but not in the Main Show.
2022 IX Jury
- Dave Ethridge (Director, Abend Gallery / Gallery 1261)
- Natalia Joruk (Deputy Editor, Beautiful Bizarre Magazine)
- Kara Ross (Director, Art Renewal Center)
- David Stevenson (Art Director, Random House Books)
- Anthony Waichulis (Director, Ani Art Academy Waichulis)
Submissions
To submit your work for consideration, you need to upload 6 representative images of your work, a headshot, and a bio. The 6 images do NOT need to be specific pieces that you will be showing at IX – they just need to give our judges a good idea of the quality and type of work that you produce. We are jurying artists, not specific pieces, as most artists who are selected to exhibit at IX produce work specifically for the show. Please use the 7th submission slot for your headshot – we will need this for the IX website and program if you are selected to exhibit.
*If you are submitting work to the jury that is currently under an NDA, please let us know this in the Description section for the piece(s) in question. If you are selected to exhibit, we will use your jury submissions to populate your gallery page on the IX website, and we don’t want to post any NDA pieces by mistake.
Selection/Payment
Jurying will take place as soon as the submission period ends. The results will be announced on December 17th, 2021. If you submit your work to the jury, you will receive an email from us notifying you of the results.
If you are selected to exhibit at IX, you will be invoiced for your base table fee on January 1st. (The 2022 base table fee is $625. This includes at least 10 linear feet of wall space/panels, 6′ table, linens, chairs, lighting, etc.) Once you pay your base fee, you may request an upgrade to the 1st-floor gallery (an additional $250 fee). These upgrades will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you want an upgrade you should pay your base invoice as promptly as possible. In all cases, base table fee payments are due by MARCH 1ST, 2022. Any invoices not paid by that time will be canceled and the spaces given to the next artist on the waiting list.
IX Main Show space sizes vary from 10 linear feet to over 20 linear feet; spaces are assigned based on artist needs, so if you wish to exhibit a large amount of work or very large work, please let us know so we can give you an appropriately sized space.
*The table fees include full participation in IX Online for the 2022 show year (November 1st, 2022 through September 30, 2023). Please note that IX Online is open ONLY to artists participating in the live IX show.
IX Submission Hosting Information
Our jury submission engine is hosted by Infected By Art on their website, www.infectedbyart.com. In order to submit, you will need to sign up for an account on their website (which you can do via the submission link) so that they can create a database entry for you to host your submissions and make them available to us and our judges. Your submissions do NOT appear on IBA’s website and they are NOT entered into the IBA annual competition – they are only viewable by us and our judges. (When you submit to IX, IBA will give you a coupon code good for one free submission to this year’s IBA volume, but you will need to use that separately from your IX jury submissions.)
