Evening Showcase Artist

DIANITA

I'm a traditional artist born in Veracruz, Mexico. I moved to the U.S.A. in 2015 and since then I've lived in Texas. I have a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering. After graduating I switched fully to art.

I don't really know how to put my art in words proper of an artist bio. All I know is that I found my home in the worlds of fantasy, guided by Julie Bell's and Donato Giancola's artbooks among many others I started discovering in 2015.

My "Gorgons" series started officially in 2021 with a series of 3 pencil drawings and has developed into paintings and drawings that have found a place in my audience's heart. In my search of their stories, they've become friends, family and a mirror where I can see parts of myself in need of healing and freedom.

I have a couple of projects in production:

- The Unbridled Spirit Tarot - Llewellyn Worldwide. Author Tina T. Anderson. Scheduled for Winter 2025.
- A cover for Weird Sisters Publishing. Jen Gephardt. Author: G. S. Norwood.
- 78 Tarot Halloween and Creatures of the night oracle deck.

My work has been featured in:

- Infected by Art XI - 2023.
- The Woven Path Tarot. Changeling Artists Collective.
- Mermaids Monthly - April 2021 cover and interior illustration.
- Dune Dragons - Middle grade chapter book by Gretchen Rose.
- A larger reality 2.0 A world in which we don't go extinct. Interior illustration.
- A song of Ice and Fire Gallery show, 2018. ASFA. Curated by Sara Felix and John Picacio.

In the present, I've been part of the Every Day Original's rooster since 2020 and have participated in small gallery shows in CA and FL. I've attended local conventions in the DFW area and in 2023 I attended my first Illuxcon as part of the Evening Showcase.
